Bereavement Group

Bereavement

St.Teresa's Bereavement Group was set up in 2007 as part of our on-going parish development.

A number of parishioners have trained for this work. The service these individuals, upon request,

are able to offer are:-

What are we here for?
We hope to offer understanding, friendship and support to those in our community who have lost someone who is very dear to them.

How do we do this?
We visit the bereaved in their homes on a regular basis for an informal chat but mostly to listen.

Why do we do this?
We do this because we think of the Church as a family in which all members care for one another.

How did we hear about you?
After a funeral the Priest gives us details of the next of kin so that we can continue to offer our help and support in time of need.

What about confidentiality?
Whatever is discussed with you during our visits is inherently confidential unless you wish it otherwise.

What about commitment?
We remain in contact with you until you feel our visits are no longer necessary.

What if I don't go to Church
This is not a requirement. It is more important that we offer support to you in your need, and only as requested by you..

How to contact us?
Please telephone the Church for the phone numbers of the members of the bereavement group
