St. Teresa's R.C Church - Cleveleys, Lancashire
Visiting Group
St.Teresa's Visiting Group was set up in 2007 as part of our on-going parish development.
A number of parishioners have trained for this work.
Our Vision Statement:- Come together.
Who can help?
Aims of this group
How will this be done Requests for visits
"Gifted by the Sprit, St Teresa's will be a living, Christ-centered community of worship, witness and service to all"
We come together at Mass to share in the Eucharist and to be strengthened for
these tasks, but there are many who, by virtue of sickness or disability, are
unable to be present with us and can feel isolated and forgotten. They need
to feel they still belong and that the Parish still cares.
Of course we all must help where possible and excellent work is undertaken by
the SVP and by the special ministries of the Eucharist, but it has also been
highlighted that further support is needed. A group of volunteers who by reason
of work or family obligations, can make a limited commitment to this work,
but are willing to share the responsibility as part of a group.
The aims of this group are to visit and give each person a sense that, within the Parish community they are known, respected and valued even if they are unable to attend Mass or other activities and to befriend and give caring support as required.
As Parish representatives, volunteers will visit the sick, housebound and those in hospital upon request and by prior arrangement.
They will keep people in touch with Parish news and supply them with the Parish Bulletin on visiting.
They will emphasise how much their prayers can help the Parish Community and that they can indeed be a "powerhouse of prayer".
Requests for visits can be made be contacting either Max Romer (01253 - 853095) or by contacting the church
